1st Xmas Party
One of my favorite memories would have to be FTM's first Christmas party. It took place in a really cool, comfortable basement at Angie's parents house. We original staff members were there (me, Angie, Sherri and Cindy) along with a few fellow local fans. Of course we had the "Merry Merry Christmas" CD playing (wait, did we have CD's in 1994?). We also had a cake decorated with five gifts and the guys names on it. I don't recall everything from that party, but I do know we had a blast!

1st Major News Story
While on a trip to Boston, we had received some good news and bad news. The bad news was that the group had definitely broken up. As upsetting and shocking as that was, we did get a bit of good news which happened to be about Jordan. We happened to get in contact with Jordan's then personal assistant Tony Haley. He was the one that confirmed the break-up to us and who told us that Jordan was going to do a solo album. This was back in 1994 and those two items were the first major stories we published in our newsletter. It was so GREAT being the first to break the news on Jordan's solo career and CD which actually wasn't released until a few years later.

Trip To Cedar Point Amusement Park
I think it was 1995 when a group of us club members took a trip to Cedar Point Amusement Park (in Sandusky, Ohio). It was a warm summer day, not too hot, was pretty comfortable weather wise I believe. We did a bunch of rides and stuff. They strong armed me into getting on some scary ride or roller coaster! Ok..they didn't strong arm me, just kindly convinced me into it. The one thing I remember about that day was lots of laughter, especially on the ride home!

Note From Mr. Mac
One of the biggest suprises we ever received was a letter from Mr. Mac in regards to one of our newsletters. After meeting him, we told him we would start to send him copies of our newsletters. In one of the issues he received we made a In Memory Of page for Mrs. Betty Wood. A few weeks later, I went to our post office box and found a letter from Mr. Mac. He thanked us for the kind memory page we created for Betty. It was an amazing letter and I quickly replied to him and thanked him for his letter. Unfortunatly, I have moved around so many times the letter was misplaced. But the memory of receiving it will last me a lifetime.

Props From Rick Dees
The coolest thing that EVER happened for us was having Rick Dees read information on the guys from our newsletter, on his Weekly Top 40 radio countdown show. It was just crazy!! This show (at the time) was broadcasted all over the world basically. Back then Rick was the morning drive guy at the Los Angeles station 102.7 Kiis FM (Ryan Seacrest has since then taken over). We used to send Rick copies of our newsletter back then and never thought he would do what he did.
One Saturday morning I was at work listening to Rick's countdown, I was keeping track of how "Stay the Same" was doing on the countdown. I don't recall what number the song was, but after it ended Rick started reading about what Joe and the other guys were doing and mentioned that the information was from our fan club's newsletter and I think he mentioned my name. I was so stunned, I just stared at my radio. Once I came out of my shocked state, I called Crystal (who was the clubs VP then) and tried to tell her what I had just heard. I think it took a few moments for her to understand what I was saying because I was just babbling for awhile. LOL! The show re-aired on Sunday and I think I was able to get that portion on tape. I will have to try to find it though. Rick Dees became my all time favorite radio personality from that day on!
